Hardware – Peripherals

Peripheral devices or “peripherals” in general, is a term for devices that are connected to the computer by wired or wireless means.

This includes any Input or Output devices that were discussed in the previous topics. It also includes any other external devices connected to the computer such as –

USB drives, headphones, webcam, router, modem, connected external hard drives, etc.

Are all input devices also peripheral devices?

Yes. All input and output devices are peripherals whether connected to it by wired cables or by wireless means like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

Are all peripheral devices also input devices?

No, not all Peripherals are Input devices. The opposite is true. Any input, output, storage, network, or connectivity device is a peripheral device.
